Skin Treatments
A Facial or Skin Treatment is designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the face or other areas of the body. These treatments are typically performed by Estheticians or Dermatologists and can be customized to address specific skin concerns, such as acne, dry skin, aging, or discoloration.
Pre Care:
To prepare for a facial, avoid sun exposure. Shave the night before your appointment. Show up to your appointment without any make up. Please inform your Skin Care Professional of any recent procedures such as waxing, lasers, peels or injectables.
What to expect during Treatment:
1. Consultation: Your Esthetician will start by asking about your skin and your home routine. We will review allergies or sensitivities. We will discuss concerns, goals & what will be done during the treatment.
2. Cleansing: This step involves removing makeup, dirt, and impurities from the skin's surface.
3. Exfoliation: This helps remove dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and revealing a brighter complexion. Exfoliation can be done with a gentle scrub or a chemical exfoliant.
4. Steam: Steaming helps open up pores, making extractions easier and relaxing the skin. This can be optional.
5. Extractions: Depending on your treatment, congestion in the pores will be extracted. This includes blackheads, whiteheads and other blemishes.
6. Mask: An appropriate facial mask will be used to address previously discussed concerns.
7. Facial Massage: This helps stimulate blood flow, relax muscles, and promote lymphatic drainage.
8. Moisturizer and other treatments: The facial will typically conclude with the application of moisturizer and potentially other products like serums or sunscreen.
9. Product Recommendations: Your Esthetician may offer recommendations for home care products to maintain your skin's health.
10. Post-treatment instructions: You may receive instructions on how to care for your skin after the facial, such as avoiding sun exposure or specific products.
After Care:
After a facial, it's important to prioritize gentle care and allow your skin to recover. Avoid harsh products, makeup, and heat for at least 24-48 hours. Focus on hydration, both through moisturizing and drinking plenty of water, and protect your skin from sun exposure.
Daily Skin Care Routine:
In between treatments, stay consistent with your skin care routine. A skin care routine will maximize the results of your skin treatments. A simple routine is all you need:
- Keep skin clean
- Serum to treat prior damage
- Moisturize to nourish
- Sunscreen to protect
That’s it! You are more likely to stay consistent if you have a simplified routine.
